Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sumit Dass sent 35-year-old Mukarram Ali Khan to judicial custody after he was produced on expiry of his five-day police custody.
Khan was arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police and around 5,100 cartridges, including some issued by the sports association concerned for his shooting practice which he had purportedly sold in grey market, were recovered from him.
According to police, a haul of 5,000 cartridges of .22 bore, 500 hollow point, 30 empty cartridges of prohibited 9 MM and 33 empty cartridges of .325 bore were recovered from his possession.
In 2013, Khan had competed in the 33rd North Zone Shooting Championship held at Delhi and won the silver medal in double trap at Delhi state level and he had also participated in the 29th Delhi State Shooting Championship in 2013 and secured second position in double trap, the agency had said.
