The incident took place last night when Neha Garg and Akanksha Arya, both students of a medical college, were on way to their hostel in Jainarayan Vyas colony, police said.
They were rushed to PBM government hospital where Neha Garg, a first year MBBS student, was declared dead, they said.
Following the incident, students of the medical college blocked Bikaner-Jaipur highway, demanding immediate arrest of the driver, police said.
Police also used mild force to clear the highway and detained nearly two dozen students to maintain law and order, they said.
