Medium sugar slips subdued demand

Medium sugar prices slipped at the Vashi wholesale market here today on subdued demand from stockist and retailers amid adequate supply positions.
Meanwhile, small sugar recovered mildly on fresh offtake from stockist and bulk consumers.
Medium sugar (M-30) fell Rs 14/10 per quintal to Rs 2,812/2,952 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 2,826/2,962.
However, small sugar (S-30) moved up by Rs 5 per quintal to Rs 2,700/2,800 as against Rs 2,700/2,795 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,700/2,800 (Rs 2,700/2,795).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,812/2,952 (Rs 2,826/2,962.
