Pharmaceutical companies and Hydro Electric Power Projects as part of the initiative to sensitise them on implementation of the new rules on Waste Management & Water Cess.
The meeting took place on June 8 and 9.
Various issues pertaining to waste management and problems faced by the units were discussed at length and the units have agreed to comply with the new Rules, official sources said today.
Altogether 40 Pharmaceutical Units attended the interactive meeting and 15 Hydro Electric Power Projects.
Issues like public complaints, compliance to standards, imparting training to unskilled employees, Environmental Clearance, muck disposal, implementation of environmental plan, performance Audit, Solid Waste Management, Ban of use of Styrofoam and varied subjects pertaining to prevention, control and abatement of pollution also came up.
