The Maroon 5 frontman said he went the traditional route when it came to getting the supermodel's father's blessing, reported Us magazine.
"I did ask his permission. I don't want to talk about it, you know how I am, but yes, of course I did. I had to. And it was extremely nerve-wracking," he said.
Levine, 35, and Prinsloo got engaged back in July 2013, after taking a brief break.
