It has also asked the construction company to refund Rs four crore balance money the government had released to the HPL, a senior Meghalaya Urban Development Authority official told PTI today.
The HPL was tasked with constructing 600 dwelling units for the poor in the city at Nongmynsong area in 2007 and 240 dwelling units at Nongpoh in 2009 at a total cost of Rs 3962.25 lakh.
A tender for construction of the remaining 160 units at Nongmynsong has been floated and is likely to be completed within 18 months and for the Nongpoh project, the government intends to carry out the balance work departmentally, the official said.
