Meghalaya: Two Cabinet ministers administered oath of office

Governor V Shanmuganathan today administered oath of office and secrecy to two newly-inducted ministers, Ronnie V Lyngdoh and Martin M Danggo at the Raj Bhavan here.
The two Cabinet ministers were inducted into the Congress-led Meghalaya United Alliance (MUA)-II government after Rowell Lyngdoh and A L Hek were dropped as deputy chief minister and health minister respectively.
Speaking to the media after the swearing-in ceremony, Danggo said though he was yet to be alloted a portfolio by the Chief Minister, he would work hard for the development of the state.
Danggo said he would try his best for improvement of roads, education and health, which are vital for the state.
Ronnie V Lyngdoh said he would commit himself for the development of the state.
"No department is a small department. All the departments are important for the development of the state," Lyngdoh said, adding the Chief Minister has given emphasis on improvement of sericulture department.
He said sericulture department could provide a lot of employment opportunities and thus improve the economy of the state.
The swearing-in ceremony which lasted for about 10 minutes saw the presence of Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president and state legislator D D Lapang, state Home Minister Roshan Warjri and a couple of other MLAs.
