Meghalaya woman scientist gets ISRO award

A young woman scientist from Meghalaya has been selected for this year's ISRO Young Scientist Award for her urban information system project in the North East, officials said today.
The award for Jenita Mary Nongkynrih carries a citation and cash of Rs 50,000.
Currently working as a scientist at the North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC), Umiam, Nongkynrih holds a Master's degree in Geography from the North Eastern Hill University.
Congratulating Nongkynrih, NESAC Director S Sudhakar said she would inspire young people wanting to build their career in space-based applications.
