"The Yogi Adityanath government is working continuously to rein in the criminal elements in the state. The rule of law, which had vanished during the previous regimes of the SP and BSP, has been established by our government," said UP BJP spokesperson Manoj Mishra in a statement here.
According to the statement, three dreaded criminals were killed in 23 encounters across the state and as many as 34 criminals were arrested in the last 72 hours.
"The police, which once had looked helpless under the political pressure, swung into action after Yogi Adityanath's government removed political pressure from them," he claimed.
