Mentha oil prices drifted lower by 0.69 per cent to Rs 941.70 per kg in futures trade today, mainly on profit-booking by speculators and fall in demand at domestic spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April fell by Rs 6.50, or 0.69 per cent, to Rs 941.70 per kg in business turnover of 73 lots.
In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in May contracts was trading lower by Rs 4.70, or 0.49 per cent, to Rs 953.60 per kg in 33 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by participants at existing level, easing demand from consuming industries in the physical market against adequate stocks position mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade.
