Mentha oil fell 0.37% to Rs 861 per kg in futures trade today after speculators offloaded their positions amid subdued demand in spot markets.

Besides, adequate stocks position on increased supplies from producing belts also put pressure on mentha oil.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange market, mentha oil for delivery in January eased by Rs 3.20, or 0.37% to Rs 861 per kg in business turnover of 143 lots.

In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in February contracts shed Rs 2.30, or 0.26% to Rs 873 per kg in 219 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators amid subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot markets mainly kept pressure on mentha oil prices at futures trade.
