Mentha oil futures fall 0.51% on profit-booking

Mentha oil prices declined by 0.51 per cent to Rs 896.20 per kg in futures market today as participants booked profits at prevailing levels, driven by a fall in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August fell by Rs 4.60, or 0.51 per cent to Rs 896.20 per kg in business turnover of 25 lots.
On similar lines, the oil for delivery in far-month September contracts moved down by Rs 3.70, or 0.41 per cent to Rs 907.70 per kg in 53 lots.
The weakness in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to profit-booking by participants at existing levels amid easing demand from consuming industries against adequate stocks position, analysts said.
