Mentha oil futures gain 0.22% as demand picks up

Mentha oil prices were higher by 0.22 per cent to Rs 943 per kg in futures trade today as traders indulged in creating fresh positions, taking positive cues from spot market on pick up in demand from consuming industries.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in December rose by Rs 2.10 or 0.22 per cent to Rs 943 per kg in business turnover of 13 lots.
Likewise, the oil for delivery in November contracts traded higher by Rs 1.90 or 0.20 per cent to Rs 933 per kg in 93 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by participants on the back of pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly let to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
