Mentha oil gains by 1.1% on spot demand

Restricted supplies from producing regions also influenced prices

Amid pick up in domestic demand and restricted supplies from producing regions, mentha oil prices were up by 1.15% to Rs 942.30 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August month rose Rs 10.70, or 1.15% to Rs 942.30 per kg in business turnover of 605 lots.

In a similar fashion, the oil for delivery in September contracts traded higher by Rs 10.70, or 1.13% to Rs 954.50 per kg in 132 lots.

Market analysts said apart from rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market against restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly led to rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
