Mentha oil prices moved up by 0.49% to Rs 690.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions, supported by rising demand in spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in November gained Rs 3.40, or 0.49%, to Rs 690.80 per kg, with a trading volume of 365 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in December edged up by Rs 2.70, or 0.38%, to Rs 702.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 90 lots.
Marketmen said a firming trend at the spot markets amid restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly influenced mentha oil prices in futures trade here.
