Mercury settles close to normal in Punjab, Haryana

Mercury in Punjab and Haryana today settled close to normal today with no report of rains from any part of the region.
Union Territory of Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 33.8 degrees Celsius, the MeT department said.
Amritsar in Punjab registered a high of 35.2 degrees whereas Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximums of 34.5 and 34.6 degrees Celsius.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a high of 34 degrees whereas Hisar's maximum settled at 36 degrees Celsius.
According to the MeT forecast, light to moderate rain or thunder showers may occur at isolated places in the two states over the next two days.
