The festive mood since last evening gathered momentum today with people from all walks of life thronging the AMU to greet the officers for the Olympic feat and inquiring about the star shooter's scheduled arrival at Mhow.
Subedar Vijay, made India proud by clinching a silver medal in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event in the Olympics yesterday, joined the army as a sepoy in 16th battalion of Dogra regiment.
The shooter from Hamirpur district in Himachal Pradesh, who joined army in 2001, represented his regiment at the Young Blood Championship after the successful completion of his training and subsequently found a place in the AMU shooting team for his skills.
Vijay did not look back from there. The marksman has so far bagged 108 medals at the national level apart from clinching 45 medals, including the Olympic silver, at the international stage.(MORE)
