According to well-informed sources, Miandad has been offered the post of mentor and coaching consultant by the franchise soon after he settled a dispute with Peshawar's captain Shahid Afridi on Saturday.
The dispute erupted after Miandad, a veteran of 124 Tests and who remained head coach of the national time thrice, alleged that Afridi had fixed matches and he himself had caught him doing this.
Afridi threatened to take Miandad to court over the allegations insisting he had always played with honour for Pakistan and the allegations had tarnished his reputation and also deeply hurt his family and supporters.
"Things are said in the heat of the moment and I also said some inappropriate things in the heat of the moment. I take them back," Miandad said referring to his allegations that Afridi had fixed matches for money.
Afridi also apologised to Miandad on air stating he had always considered him as his elder brother.
"What Javed bhai said caused me and my family pain but I also understand now what I said about him was not warranted and would have hurt him and I say sorry to him for that," Afridi said.
