The family of Monu Dariyapur, who was shot dead, along with the policeman and his friend, has demanded a probe into the role of the constable who sustained injuries to his arm.
Police also questioned for several hours, Mohan Mittal who had given his Paschim Vihar house to Monu for staying.
However, he did not charge any rent from Monu for the property, which is an expensive one, sources said.
While police is primarily focussing on the honour killing theory, they are also exploring other angles.
Police have claimed that this may be a case of honour killing, as Bhupendra had married, Rajrani, the sister of Sonu Dariyapur.
Monu and Sonu were friends but had a fallout after the former married the latter's sister.
Since Monu and Rajrani belonged to the same village, the elders were of the view that they are siblings.
Several teams of the Special Cell and local police are working on the case and around 20 people have been questioned without any success so far.
Around 11 PM on Sunday, Dariyapur, Arun along with the police personnel were seated inside a car when a group of men attacked them.
Constable Kuldeep somehow managed to run away and was chased for a few metres and sustained bullet injuries to his arm. Monu's family has alleged that he had joined them around 15 days back and was quite inquisitive. The constable might be questioned in detail to know the sequence of events and his fleeing away from the spot.
