The 68-year-old actor was presented with the award at a dinner attended by celebrities including Lou Reed, Justin Timberlake and Bobby Charlton, reported Daily Mirror.
The glitzy event at the Royal Opera House in London's Covent Garden was hosted by funnyman Rob Brydon and saw Charlton given a lifetime achievement award by current Manchester United star and general sporting hunk Rio Ferdinand.
Elton John was given the genius award by Wilko Johnson, "Doctor Who" actor Matt Smith gave Noel Gallagher the icon award while Samuel L Jackson presented Douglas with his award.
