Michael Douglas receives Jewish Honour

Veteran actor Michael Douglas has received the Genesis Prize, which is dubbed as the 'Jewish Nobel Prize', for his work promoting a more welcoming and inclusive Judaism.
The 70-year-old star was awarded the prize by Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu among others at a ceremony in Israel, reported Variety.
The "Wall Street" actor was joined by Catherine Zeta-Jones and their children Dylan, 14, and Carys, 12.
The "Behind the Candelabra" star appeared tearful in his acceptance speech and urged followers to "open their tent flaps... So that all who want to come in and join our tribe know they are welcome.

"Inclusiveness and tolerance are Jewish values, too. I strongly believe that Judaism should reflect the spirit of welcome and tradition that existed in Abraham's tent," he said.
The actor will now work with the foundation to find the most beneficial way to re-gift the money to help the Jewish community.
