The 37-year-old, best known for her role in soap opera 'Emmerdale', popped the question to her partner Rosie Nicholl during a sun-soaked vacation at Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands over the festive period, reported BBC online.
Hardwick confirmed the happy news during an interview, saying, "We were in Gran Canaria on holiday and it was about 9.30 at night and I got down on one knee. I'd had the ring for over a year... I was very nervous."
She also revealed her plans to propose on Christmas Day had to be postponed when she found out Nicholl's sister had become engaged the same day.
