The victims, identified as, Ram (52) and Somwati (50) were sleeping when the house caught fire last night allegedly from the 'diyas' lit for the puja performed earlier, SP (Rural) Brijesh Srivastava said.
Before the villagers could rush for rescue, both had died, the SP said, adding, most of the household items were also destroyed in the fire.
