A middle-aged couple was found hanging in their room at Jagachha in Howrah district today, months after the unnatural death of their 18-year old son.
A senior police officer said the bodies of Alok Chattopadhyay and his wife Jayasree were found hanging at their ground floor residence by neighbours after the maid alerted them.
The duo, who were in depressed state following the unnatural death of their only teenaged son in January last, mostly kept to themselves in past few months, the officer said quoting eyewitnesses.
The bodies were sent for post-mortem and police prima facie suspected it could be a case of suicide, the officer said.
