Miele to expand its product portfolio in India

German luxury domestic appliances maker Miele is looking to expand its product portfolio in India to tap the vast potential here.
The firm that sells washing machine with price starting at Rs 1.79 lakh, coffee machines at Rs 2.79 lakh, microwave ovens at Rs 1.69 lakh and dish washers at Rs 1.49 lakh, said it would tie up with luxurious apartment makers to place its products there.
"We are trying to offer a comprehensive product portfolio to meet consumer's needs in the countries we are acting in. With the recent launch of a full range of new built-in appliances Miele is showing again the high expertise in product development, quality and design," Miele Group Co- proprietor and Executive Director Reinhard Zinkann told PTI.
Miele, which has started in 2009 and is in initial phases is seeing many potential customers here, it added.
He further added: "We are likewise planning to grow underlining our competence of offering a full-range assortment to our customers. Our aim is to provide a full set of appliances to our customers, including cleaning appliances like vacuum cleaners, dishwashers and laundry machines".
According to him, the Indian consumer is evolving and experimenting with style and luxury.
"It is not just about cars, apparels, etc, but the entire set up which makes India a soft bed for built-in appliances, kitchens, etc, too," Zinkann added.
Miele is also looking good potential in the luxurious in the apartments and has entered into agreement with real estate players.
The company has invested Rs 90 crore in India and would invest more.
"Till date it is Rs 90 crore. Miele is intent on increasing its investment in further partnerships with premium and highly competent dealers and project developers," Zinkann added.
