Buoyed by growth in the power sector, especially in the domestic market, BS Ltd, an EPC player in the transmission and distribution sector, expects a 30 per cent rise in revenues this fiscal.
"The scope in the transmission and distribution sector is very huge especially at a time when the generation capacity has increased significantly. We are bagging big orders, which give us the visibility of achieving at least 25-30 per cent growth in revenues this fiscal," BS Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Rajesh Agarwal told PTI.
The company (formerly known as BS TransComm Ltd) in the last fiscal had reported Rs 2,327 crore revenues. For the quarter ended June 30 in FY 2015, BS posted a revenue of Rs 502 crore.
Agarwal said in India the transmission and distribution to generation investment ratio is very low at 30 per cent.
"To make up for this investment deficit, the country needs to invest more than 0.5 times of the future investments made in generation into transmission," he said.
Further, under the 12th Plan an addition of 90,000 ckm of 765-220 kV lines, 154,000 MVA of substation capacity and 34,036 MW of national grid capacity is required.
"An investment of USD 35 billion from PowerGrid Corporation (PGCIL) and private players is planned for the power transmission sector. This opens up tremendous opportunities to players like us who have core expertise in the transmission and distribution sectors," he said.
The Hyderabad-based company, which has presence in states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattishgarh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan is also looking entering new geographies, he said.
BS's order book as on August 2014 stands at around Rs 1,500 crore.
