"Mild tremors measuring 2.8 on Richter scale were reported from Jabalpur and surrounding areas for a few seconds at around 10.45 AM," District Collector Shiv Narayan Rupla said.
No loss of life or damage to property was reported so far, he said.
There were also reports of people experiencing mild tremors in Panagar, Katangi, Sehora and Majhouli tehsils near Jabalpur, he said.
The residents at all these places rushed out of their houses in panic after they felt the tremors.
