Milkfed installs EHP technique

In a bid to make optimum utilisation of the solar energy in the milk/food processing industry in Punjab, a new technology of Heat Pump (EHP) has been introduced by Milkfed at its milk plant here.
Giving details, Managing Director, Milkfed, Alaknanda Dayal, said here today that the 'Milk Cooperative' Milkfed in collaboration with TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) conducted a workshop to promote energy efficient technology in Milk Processing, Food Processing and other Hospitality areas, here.
Under this new project, Milkfed with the support of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) Ministry of Environment and Forests has introduced a new EHP technology at its milk plant in the city.

She said that the key feature of this EHP technology was that it performs simultaneous electrical chilling and heating operations besides offering an opportunity to milk/food processing industries to significantly cut down their energy consumption.
