Celebrity designer duo Shantanu & Nikhil believe millennials should be lauded for their spontaneity and confidence and in their new collection they celebrate being vocal about one's beliefs.

Their latest clothing line, 'Raj-Kumari' takes inspiration from the ancient form of storytelling in India, the colourful tales of Panchatantra and its historical significance denoting an Indian prince and princess, with a new age spin to cater to the millennial India who are not necessarily royalty.

"The collection is a portrayal of the juxtaposition that today's millennials are, where they are as playful and spontaneous as they are articulate and composed, as feminine and graceful as they are bold and confident. They don't shy away from voicing their beliefs and if need be fight for it. The ensembles are a representation of the soul of India with a contemporary fusion of electric, radiant and vibrant hues.

"'Raj-Kumari' reinterprets the Indian framework of beliefs wherein millennials clutch their heritage in one hand and bear the torch of the new-age spunk in the other. It is the new face of Indian men and women who embrace tradition and contemporise it in their own inimitable style," the designers told PTI in an interview.

Shantanu & Nikhil said the name of their collection is an expression of gender dichotomy.

"'Raj' representing men's subtle yet compelling presence and 'Kumari' depicting the radiant and charismatic feminine mien. It encapsulates our bran's egalitarian values and embraces tradition through a progressive interpretation."
"For us, anti-trend stems from the freedom of choice, will and thought without having to be apologetic and where one is entitled to a certain way of thinking without being questioned on it."
