The release claimed all 1,444 noon meal centres in the district were open today, the children fed and that only 400 of the 3673 noon meal workers participated in the strike.
The workers are demanding filling 25,000 vacancies in noon meal centres, pension of Rs.3500 for retired staff.
About 400 noon meal centre workers participated in the demonstration in front of the collectorate to press for their demand.
