The blaze in the 16-storey 'La Mer' building was brought under control immediately, and no injuries were reported in the incident, the official added.
Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar used to live in this high-rise in the past.
"Our fire control room received a call at 12.50 pm regarding the fire that broke out on the 13th floor of La Mer building located in Bandra West," the official said adding that the fire fighting team was pressed into service immediately.
"The blaze was brought under control within time and there was no injury to anyone in the incident," he said.
