Minor girl raped, killed in Bahraich
The incident took place yesterday when the girl had gone to collect mangoes from an orchard, following which the accused allegedly raped her, Sunil Singh, In-charge Superintendent of Police said.
Later, the girl's body was recovered from a cane field, he said.
DIG Devipatan division Vijay Garh and district magistrate Narendra Kumar Singh visited the spot yesterday.
On the complaint given by the girl's father, a case of rape and murder has been lodged, the SP said.
He said that the post-mortem has been conducted by a panel of three doctors.
