The accused, Roshan Lal, a driver, entered the girl's house on Sunday under the pretext of delivering some items sent by her uncle and raped her, Nayab Tehsildar Mohan Singh Rana said.
The 15-year-old victim's parents happened to be away when the incident occurred, he said.
When her parents returned home she recounted her ordeal to them and the matter was reported to the police, the officer said.
A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the IPC and the POCSO Act and a search is on to nab him, Rana said.
