Miscreants throw acid at 20-year-old woman

A 20-year-old woman suffered injuries when miscreants threw acid at her in Hooghly district, a senior police officer said today.
Sovan Malik, a resident of Ramchandrapur village in Singur was cycling to her home after getting down from a train at Biara station when the miscreants who were on motorcycles follwed her threw acid at her and fled on Saturday evening, Superintendent of Police Sunil Chowdhury said.
She is undergoing treatment at Shramajibi Hospital at Belur and doctors said she may lose vision in her right eye.
Malik works at a call centre in Sector V area of Salt Lake, Kolkata and used to travel to Kolkata from her home at Ramchandrapur in Singur.
