Sannya Chatterjee went missing after he had left his residence for a friend's house in a nearby area yesterday. His body was found in a pond this morning, Police Commissioner of Barrackpore Niraj Singh said.
A mob ransacked the house of the victim's friend alleging that the incident was a case of murder.
Police detained Chatterjee's friend and his parents for interrogation, he said.
