AICC general secretary and in charge of party affairs in Uttar Pradesh Madhusudan Mistry today downplayed "near revolt like situation" posed by party MLA Vivek Singh, saying it was an internal matter and would be resolved within the party.
"It is an internal matter of the party and we will resolve it... How we have to deal with, it is ours matter," Mistry said when asked about Singh's yesterday's statement that the manner in which things are going on in the party, it is better to merge it with the Samajwadi Party to deal better with the BJP.
Mistry, however, refuted Singh's statement, saying "let him say it, we will sit and decide what we have to do".
When questioned on continued attacks by senior party leader Beni Prasad Verma on partymen, Mistry said "there is no need to inform you on what action we have taken on it... everything is not in your knowledge nor do we have to announce every step".
The Congress leader stressed that had there not been discipline, the party would not have survived so long.
On Robert Vadra, he said there is a move by a section of media to find loopholes in the Congress and target Congress leadership.
"Why all the questions are being raised on Congress and its leaders. Why no one is asking them how their president is the person who had been in jail for three months and how one of their ministers is facing serious charges," Mistry said, adding that media is full of praise for Modi.
