Mixed day for Indians at IBSF World Snooker

Manan Chandra continued his impressive run at the IBSF World Snooker Championships with another comfortable victory even as other Indian cueists enjoyed a mixed day here today.
Chandra defeated Belgium's Tomaz Skalski 4-2 in the 15-Red format, while Shahbaaz Adil Khan and Brijesh Damani lost their respective matches in the men's section.
Khan went down 2-4 against Brenden O'Donoghue of Ireland and Damani was tamed by Germany's Roman Dietzel with an identical scoreline.
In the women's category, Varshaa Sanjeev became the first Indian to qualify for the next round as she blanked Maria Buckaraska of Ukraine 3-0.
Chitra M and Neena Praveen too were successful in conquering Yu Ching of Hong Kong (3-1) and Irina Gorbataya from Russia (3-1), respectively.
S A Saleem was the first to bow out of the competition after he went down against tournament favourite from Wales, Ian Sergeant, 2-3 in the masters category (above 40).
Nigel Lazar, too, lost to Murat Ayas 1-3.

Roman Dietzel (Germany) beat Brijesh Damani 4-2 (41-70, 82-5, 69-64, 49-61, 44-69, 31-65)
Women's: Chitra M (India) beat Yu Ching (Hong Kong) 3-1 (51-63, 80-58, 69-20, 74-25)
Neena Praveen (India) beat Irina Gorbataya (Russia) 3-1 (55-13, 56-43, 39-70, 81-58)
Varshaa Sanjeev (India) beat Maria Buckaraska (Ukraine) 3-0 (65-47, 48-2, 53-40)
Masters: Nigel Lazer lost to Murat Ayas 1-3 (24-75, 48-62, 55-33, 53-60)
S A Saleem lost to Ian Sergeant (Wales) 3-2 (74-51, 65-27, 62-63, 97-0, 97-0).
