According to police, one Dharmendra Singh, a resident of Raghna village in the district, has complained that the accused forcibly took him away from his home on Wednesday night and subjected to him to beating for about four hours at the farmhouse of Omveer Singh, Som's father.
Dharmendra has alleged that Omveer and four of his associates not only beat him but also tried to pull out the nail on one of his fingers using a pair of pliers. The complainant said that he was attacked over a dispute involving labour.
Meanwhile, MLA Som, is an accused in the Muzaffarnagar riots case, said that the matter was politically motivated and called for an independent inquiry into it.
