Moderate quake topples buildings, kills 1 in north Argentina

A moderate earthquake has toppled buildings and left at least one person dead in the northern Argentine region of Salta.
The US Geological Survey says the 5.9-magnitude quake's epicenter was 21 kilometers east of El Galpon, Argentina. The depth of today quake was 8.2 kms.
State news agency Telam reported that one woman died as a result of the quake and images broadcast on social media showed some toppled buildings.
Argentina's National Seismic Prevention Institute said the quake was felt strongly in the city of Salta, 120 kms away.
