Modi arrives in MP, to be felicitated by farmers in Sherpur

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today arrived here to take part in Kisan Kalyan Mela at Sherpur village in neighbouring Sehore district.
Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan welcomed the Prime Minister at the Raja Bhoj Airport.
After the customary welcome, Modi left for Sherpur in a helicopter for the Kisan Kalyan Mela where he will be felicitated by the farmers for launching Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme.
Earlier in the day, Modi tweeted "Will be in Madhya Pradesh for a special programme- the Kisan Kalyan Mela, where I will interact with my farmer sisters & brothers."

Modi also informed through his twitter handle, "I look forward to releasing guidelines for operationalisation of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, the path breaking crop insurance scheme."
"Will distribute soil health cards & crop insurance settlement claims to some farmers during the programme," he said in a tweet.
