Under opposition attack for his frequent foreign trips, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today found unexpected support from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

"People are saying that the Prime Minister is going abroad. It is good for the country as it is bringing investments," Yadav told newspersons here.

"Everyone wants investment, be it in the country or in the state," Yadav, who had himself been on a foreign trip recently, stressed.

On losses suffered by state's farmers due to untimely rains and hailstorm, Yadav said his government was providing maximum help and compensation to them.

Claiming that so far the state has not got any help from the central government, he said more help will be extended when the centre provided its share.

He also gave an assurance that a new bridge will be constructed at Kishunpur on Yamuna bank.
