BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, who launched his electioneering in Tamil Nadu with a rally here today, sought to strike a chord with the state people, presenting himself in the traditional Tamil attire of dhoti and shirt.
Addressing the rally on the eve of Tamil new year, Modi, clad in a saffron coloured shirt and white dhoti, greeted the gathering with "vanakkam", the Tamil salutary, evoking thunderous applause.
Modi, used to wearing his typical half-sleeve kurta, even sported 'angavastram' around his neck.
