Mohapatra, who had in 2009 elections exactly predicted about BJD to bag above 100 seats in the house of 147 members, this time said that the ruling party headed by Naveen Patnaik could get about 50 plus seats after 2014 elections.
About his own party's electoral prospect, Mohapatra said, "if early elections are held then OJM (Odisha Jan Morcha) would get 25 plus seats. BJD would win 50 plus and Congress would grab 25 plus seats whereas BJP would gather around 10 seats".
Mohapatra who had been expelled from the BJD by Patnaik in June last year, said his party OJM would not allow him to become chief minister of the state for the fourth time.
"OJM and BJD will together form the government minus Naveen after 2014 elections," Mohapatra claimed.
Both Patnaik and Mohapatra separated after a close relationship between them for above a decade. Mohapatra was, however, dropped from the party on charges of attempting a coup on the Naveen Patnaik government in 2012.
Mohapatra had launched the Odisha Jan Morcha (OJM) in April this year after being dropped from the BJD. Though Mohapatra claimed that he was the person who chose candidates for BJD in 2009 elections, none of the ruling party MLA supported him.
