Actress Shraddha Kapoor, who has reteamed with Mohit Suri in 'Ek Villain' following the success of 'Aashiqui 2', says the director is a tough task master and her biggest critic.
'Ek Villain', also starring Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh, will release next Friday.
"Mohit Suri is my biggest critic. He points out my mistakes on my face without any hesitation. He knows how to extract the best from me. At the same time he gives me enough space to perform," said Shraddha.
The actress, who was in the Capital to promote the film, has also lent her voice for the track 'Teri Galiyan'.
"I belong to a singing family. On my maternal side almost everyone is a singer. I wanted to sing in 'Aashiqui 2' but Mohit did not let me sing. He gave me a chance in this film. He did not use any technical improvisation in the song. He kept it raw," she said.
Shraddha is happy that the song is being liked but does not plan to take up playback singing as a career option.
"I didn't expect people will like the song so much. My friends in the industry are calling me and congratulating me. Even Aditya (Roy Kapoor) called me and said he listens to my song everyday," she said.
Shraddha, who tasted success with her last release 'Aashiqui 2', feels she can handle the ups and downs in her career as her first two films, 'Teen Patti' and 'Luv Ka The End', flopped.
"I feel like I had the best start because I tasted failure at the beginning and it helped me to improve as an actress and at the same time it also prepared me to handle the success of 'Aashiqui 2'.
"If I would have bagged success in my first film I would not have known how to handle failure after that. Now I can handle the ups and downs of my career," she said.
The actress would next be seen in dance-based film 'ABCD 2' and Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Haider'.
