Monsoon hits Madhya Pradesh

Monsoon today arrived in Madhya Pradesh and rainfall is likely to continue to lash several parts of the state in next 24 hours, a top MeT department official said.
"Monsoon today entered extreme south-west MP, including Indore, and south-east Madhya Pradesh," Indian Meteorological Centre's (IMC) Bhopal based regional office Director Dr Anupam Kashyapi told PTI.
He said that monsoon generating from Arabian Sea has hit extreme south- west region and the other one originating from Bay of Bengal has entered south-east part of the state.
Several parts of the state are receiving rainfall since yesterday.
Bhopal MeT department officer Yogesh Shrivastava said that rainfall was today recorded in several parts of Rewa, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Sagar, Hoshangabad, Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior and Chambal divisions.

Maximum 8 cm rainfall has been recorded at Narsingarh tehsil in Rajgarh district, he said, adding that another place in Ujjain district too has recorded 5 cm rainfall.
In next 24 hours, rainfall is likely to occur at several places in Indore, Hoshangabad, Shahdol, Bhopal, Ujjain and Gwalior-Chambal divisions rain is also likely to occur at few places in remaining divisions of the state.
