Over 200 girls and coaches from different countries and backgrounds today attended a 'Goals for Girls' leadership summit which sought to address challenges faced by the disadvantaged girls across the globe by empowering them through football.

The Indian girls and coaches are joined by one of the top American under 17 girls' football teams. It is being led by two-time Olympic gold medalist and 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup winner Cindy Parlow Cone, and a delegation of high level American and Indian coaches.
The summit invitees -- girls aged 9-18 -- from all over the country have been participating in football exercises and workshops that equip them with leadership and other valuable life skills based on the 'Goals for Girls' customized curriculum.
The soccer activities at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium include technical and tactical training sessions, mini tournaments and competitions, exhibition game, as well as daily training sessions by former US women's national team players.
