More than 7k villages in Rajasthan declared scarcity-hit

More than 7,000 villages in 28 out of total 33 districts in Rajasthan have been declared as scarcity-hit after the assessment reports of district collectors.
A notification to this effect was issued on Monday after Girdavari reports on losses to Rabi crops from district collectors was received by the government, Relief Secretary Rohit Kumar said today.
He said that on the basis of the Girdavari reports, 7,759 villages in 28 districts have been declared scarcity-hit.
Chittorgarh district has the maximum number (1,422) of scarcity-hit villages which is followed by Bhilwara where 1,185 villages have been declared scarcity-hit.
These villages suffered huge losses due to unseasonal rainfall and hailstorm recently.
