Minister of State for Defence Shripad Yesso Naik paid his maiden visit to the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited facilities here on Wednesday.
He was received by HAL Chairman and Managing Director R Madhavan and senior officials of the defence public sector unit at the Helicopter Complex.
The officials accompanied him during his visit to Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas Division, Rotary Wing R&D Centre and various hangars, HAL said in a statement.
The Minister was briefed on current developments, future proposals and projects of the company.
We are proud to see the work done by HAL in manufacturing of helicopter and other fixed wing aircraft. We should make more efforts to be self-sufficient in the field, the statement quoted Naik as saying.
