Northern Railway along with Municipal Corporation of Delhi jointly put the the "Mosquito Terminator" into action to check mosquito breeding in the water bodies along railway tracks in Delhi area, a senior Northern Railway official said today.
A truck mounted power sprayer provided by MCD will spray insecticides to sanitise the water bodies' upto a distance of 50-60 meters along the tracks of Delhi Ring Railway covering Hazrat Nizamuddin, Lajpat Nagar, Sewa Nagar, Lodhi Colony, Delhi Safdarjung, Patel Nagar, Delhi Kishanganj, Dayabasti and culminate at New Delhi station.
The special train is envisaged to mitigate the health hazards of breeding of mosquitoes in the burrow pits alongside construction sites of rail tracks and as a measure to cater to public health more importantly for the health safety of people.
