The deceased were identified as Saam Yadav (40), Prakash Yadav (30), Veeranlal Yadav (30), Santlal Masram (35), Satrupa Nagesh (40) and his younger brother Chatru Nagesh (35), they said.
"The victims belong to Bareli village under Ghansaur tehsil and were going to Dhumalal village situated close to neighbouring Mandla district border to work as labourers in an agriculture field," Kindarai Police Station in charge C M Shukla said.
The injured were admitted to Mandla district hospital for treatment, police said, adding a case has been registered and further investigations were on.
